Connect your website to a domain registered through Google

If you lot purchased your domain when you signed up for Google Workspace, you can follow these steps to connect your domain name to your website.

Before you lot begin

Connecting your website involves working with technical settings chosen DNS records. If you aren't familiar with DNS records, share this article with your webmaster. Or contact your web host, who tin can walk y'all through the process. Examples of web hosts or website builders who also host websites are GoDaddy, Bluehost, SquareSpace, WordPress, and Wix.

Requirements:

  • You purchased your domain name (example.com) during sign-up.
  • You have your website ready (Google Workspace doesn't offer website hosting).
  • You take the DNS record or autoconnect instructions you lot need from your web host.

If yous signed up for Google Workspace with a domain you already owned, contact your domain registrar and web host for instructions.

Footstep 1: Identify your domain registrar

When yous purchase a domain during Google Workspace sign-up, the domain is registered with one of the following registrars:

  • Google Domains
  • GoDaddy
  • Enom
  • DomainDiscount24

Follow these steps to observe who your domain registrar is and what your account sign-in name and password are:

  1. From the Admin panel Dwelling page, become to Domains.

  2. Click Manage Domains.
  3. Next to the domain you want to connect to a website, click View Details.

  1. Sign in to Google Domains.
  2. If you take multiple domains, click the name of the domain yous want to unlock.

  3. From the Domain overview folio, on the left, click DNS.

    The DNS option is selected on the left menu.

  4. Select the DNS record provided by your web host for instructions on adding it to your domain'southward DNS records.

    For an A tape:

    1. Scroll downwards the page to the Custom resources records.
    2. From the Type list, select A.
    3. In the Name and TTL fields, exit the default values.
    4. In the Data field, enter the A tape provided by your web host. (It's four sets of numbers separated by periods.)
    5. Click Add to save the new A record.

      Add an A record

    For a CNAME record:

    1. Scroll down the page to the Custom resource records.
    2. From the Type list, select CNAME.
    3. In the Name field, enter the alias or host data portion of the CNAME record (usually world wide web) provided by your web host.
    4. In the TTL field, leave the default value.
    5. In the Data field, enter the points to or destination portion of your web host'southward CNAME record. It usually contains the name of your web host and will await similar to www.case.com.
    6. Click Add to salve the new CNAME record.

      Custom resource records section

    For a Proper noun Server (NS) record:

  • Add the web host's DNS tape (A, CNAME, or NS) as explained in the instructions beneath.

For an A record:

  1. Next to the domain name that you want to unlock, click More than""and select Manage DNS.

    The More list is open and Domain settings is selected from the list.

  2. Scroll downwardly to the lesser of the Records tabular array and click Add.

    The Records table is shown and a red circle highlights the Add button.

  3. From the Type list, select A.

    From the Type drop-down list, A is selected.

  4. In the Host field, enter @.
  5. In the Points to field, enter the A record (IP address) provided past your spider web host.
  6. In the TTL field, keep the default value.

  7. Click Salvage.

For a CNAME record:

  1. Next to the domain name that you want to unlock, click More""and select Manage DNS.

    Manage DNS is selected from the More list.

    The DNS Management page opens.

  3. From the Type listing, select CNAME.

  6. In the TTL field, keep the default value.

  7. Click Save.

For a Name Server (NS) tape:

For a CNAME record:

  1. Roll down to the Host Records table and click Edit.
  2. Click Add New.
  3. From the Record Type listing, select CNAME (Alias).

  4. In the Host Name field, enter the Allonym,Proper noun, orHost information portion of the record (usually www) that is the CNAME record provided by your web host.
  5. In the Address field, enter the portion of the record that contains the name of your web host (like www.example.com).
  6. Click Save.

For a Name Server (NS) record:

  5. Click Relieve.

    Save the CNAME record

For a Name Server (NS) record:

  1. To the correct of the domain you want to connect to your website, click More"" and then Nameserver.

Your domain might be redirected to your website immediately, but it can have upwards to 72 hours, depending on your domain host. If your domain hasn't redirected to your website after 3 days, contact your domain host back up.

If NS changed: add Google Workspace services to your spider web host

Important: These services only need to exist added to your web host'due south DNS records if you lot have changed your Name Servers (NS records).

To go along your Google Workspace services (such as Gmail) working after connecting your domain to your website with a Name Server record, re-create the DNS records (TXT/SPF, MX, and CNAME) that are listed in your Google Workspace domain's DNS panel and paste them into your website's DNS records stored with your spider web host.

Gmail and SPAM protection

To proceed email delivery to your Google Workspace Mail inbox, add the Google Workspace MX records to the DNS records stored with your web host. Here's the records you need to add:
